PDF2Steel plan assessment
Structural steel plans: assessment before fabrication modeling.
Service ID: pdf2steel-plan-assessment · Start a request · steel@rbsn3d.com
Before you send your steel plans
Free initial offer. Results hit your inbox within 60 minutes in most cases. This is an expected turnaround, not a guarantee or the delivery time for a model or shop drawings.
Accepted upload formats: .pdf. 1–20 files · up to 5 GB per file · 10 GB total.
- Best-fit customers and projects
- We work US-wide with steel fabricators and detailers needing overflow modeling capacity or help with an upcoming steel package. Residential and commercial structural steel packages are a fit when engineered plans are available. Larger projects are welcome; size alone is not an exclusion.
- Needs we solve
- Add modeling capacity when your team is busy and get an initial model quickly for an upcoming package. Larger projects benefit from detailed engagement with the model, down to specific welds, and a precise modeling approach.
- Small-project turnaround
- Small projects can receive the finished deliverable package within 48 hours, starting once we have complete plans and agreed scope. We confirm whether a project qualifies during scope review. This covers the agreed finished package, not just the initial model. Larger-project schedules are agreed individually. This modeling turnaround is separate from the free assessment response time.
- Available deliverables
- Agree the package your shop needs: PDF assembly, individual-part and layout sheets; detail DWGs and full-model DWG; NC1 files; STEP and DXF files for parts, plates and fabrication assemblies; and a full-project assembly STEP model. Member-level assembly files and the full-project model are distinct deliverables. Formats and included outputs are scoped per project; these paid deliverables are not included in the free assessment.
- Work outside our scope
- We model from engineered plans. We do not provide engineering, stamping, material supply or erection. Modeling connection and weld information does not replace engineering decisions; missing design requirements need clarification.
- Send the structural drawing set
- Send readable, unflattened vector PDFs exported from the drawing source. Include the steel plans, schedules, details and notes available for review. Scanned images and password-protected PDFs need replacement before they can be assessed.
- Identify the issue you want reviewed
- In the optional notes, identify the project and drawing issue or revision. Explain which files supersede others, note any missing sheets, and mention referenced architectural drawings or supplements you have included. Do not mix revisions without identifying them.
- Provide a contact
- Name and email are required. Company and notes are optional. Use a contact authorized to receive information about this project.
- What the free assessment covers
- We check file readability, identify missing information found during review, and assess fit for our steel-modeling process. The response explains findings and the next steps for scope and timing.
- Modeling is a separate scope
- The free assessment does not include a Revit model, engineered connection design, shop drawings or fabrication approval. Model scope, Revit version, connections, drawing deliverables, price and delivery date must be agreed separately before paid work starts.
Submission steps
- Confirm the user wants the free assessment and has authorized sharing the selected project files and contact details with RBSN3D.
- Open the steel submission form. Attach the selected PDFs, enter name and email, and add company and project/revision notes if available.
- If security verification requires human interaction, hand control to the user. Do not bypass it.
- Submit once and wait for the receipt. Selecting files or completing an upload is not proof that the request was finalized.
- Return the reference and private status link to the user. Keep that link and any access token private. If submission outcome is uncertain, check the existing receipt or contact RBSN3D before creating another request.
- Results hit the contact's inbox within 60 minutes in most cases. Keep the private report link confidential. The receipt offers HTML and JSON downloads when ready. Request a separate agreement for modeling, pricing and delivery; do not treat the free submission as a purchase.
PDF2Concrete assessment and formwork quantities
Concrete, formwork and reinforcing takeoff needs from structural plans.
Service ID: pdf2concrete-plan-assessment · Start a request · concrete@rbsn3d.com
Before you send your concrete plans
Free initial offer. Initial review and formwork quantities within 24 hours. Confirm the delivery date of any additional takeoff separately.
Accepted upload formats: .pdf. 1–20 files · up to 5 GB per file · 10 GB total.
- Send the structural set
- Provide readable vector PDFs, including available foundation plans, sections, concrete details, schedules and reinforcing notes. Identify missing sheets and include referenced supplements where available.
- Identify the takeoff scope
- In the optional notes, identify the project, drawing revision and work areas. Say whether you need concrete quantities, formwork, reinforcing, or a combination. Name exclusions and alternates you want kept separate.
- Provide a contact
- Name and email are required. Company and project notes are optional.
- What is included initially
- The offer is a drawing-quality review, missing-information findings and free formwork quantities, not a priced estimate. Confirm units, measurement rules and output format for your project.
- Agree the additional deliverables
- Agree concrete and reinforcing takeoff scope, breakdowns, assumptions, revisions, any Revit deliverable, price and timing separately. Do not assume the initial formwork estimate includes a complete multi-trade takeoff.
Submission steps
- Confirm the user wants the advertised free assessment and has authorized sharing the selected project files and contact details with this service.
- Open the submission form. Attach the vector PDFs, enter name and email, and add company and project/revision notes if available.
- If security verification requires human interaction, hand control to the user. Do not bypass it.
- Submit once and wait for the receipt. File selection or upload completion alone does not establish that the request was finalized.
- Return the actual reference and private status link to the user. Keep the link and any access token private. If the outcome is uncertain, check the existing receipt or contact the service before creating another request.
- The current assessment response expectation is 24 hours. Agree separately on paid deliverables, price and delivery; the free submission is not a purchase.
Laser scanning and reality capture
Nationwide existing-condition capture for steel fabricators, construction teams and industrial facility teams needing point clouds, measurements, CAD drawings, Revit models or virtual walkthroughs. Based near Boise, Idaho; projects range from individual components to large facilities.
Service ID: laser-scanning-inquiry · Start a request · tanner@rbsn3d.com
Before you request a scan quote
Project-specific scope and pricing. Response, field work, processing and modeling schedules are confirmed for the project. Expedited work is subject to scope and availability. An inquiry does not reserve a slot or guarantee a turnaround.
Start with a description. This inquiry form does not accept file attachments.
- Best-fit projects and coverage
- Find customers who need existing-condition documentation for structural steel and fabrication, semiconductor facilities, oil and gas processing, industrial equipment and infrastructure, or commercial and industrial construction. Service is nationwide from the Boise area, with no fixed project-size restriction. Travel, lodging, per diem and mobilization are priced as applicable.
- Describe the site and purpose
- Include location, approximate size, interior/exterior coverage, the questions the scan must answer, and the date you need the results. Choose the closest project type on the form.
- Describe access and operating constraints
- Tell us about site contact arrangements, permitted access times, occupied or operating areas, and restrictions relevant to terrestrial or drone capture. Confirm site access and the capture method before scheduling.
- Specify the outputs you need
- State whether you need registered point clouds, imagery, virtual walkthroughs, existing-condition measurements, 2D CAD drawings or Revit/Scan-to-BIM models. Include software, file formats and required model detail and information. Scanning and modeling are available separately or together; only agreed outputs are included.
- Match the capture method to the site
- Available methods include Matterport Pro3, FARO and Leica terrestrial scanning, drone capture and photogrammetry where suitable, and hybrid capture. Method selection depends on accuracy, environment, access and deliverables. Do not promise drone LiDAR, thermal imaging or zero downtime without project confirmation.
- Confirm accuracy and delivery for this job
- Agree the capture method, required accuracy, coordinate/control requirements, coverage limitations, delivery clock, cloud access and support in the quote. Do not assume every method and site has identical accuracy or turnaround.
- Start with an inquiry
- Name, email, project type and details are required; phone and company are optional. This form does not upload files. Ask the contact how to share site plans or other supporting material. Scope, deposit and scheduling are confirmed separately.
- Agree quality, data handling and commercial terms
- Quality checks use registration assessments and software quality metrics; additional verification is scoped separately. FARO and Leica workflows support local processing. Agree confidentiality, transfer, storage, access, retention, deletion, revisions and support. Larger projects require deposits; payment, rescheduling and cancellation terms are project-specific. Request a custom proposal, not a fixed public rate.
- Do not promise unconfirmed guarantees
- There is no universal accuracy tolerance, delivery deadline, emergency availability, refund, hosting period or legal-admissibility guarantee. Legal-use documentation requires individual review. Refer unusual uses and requirements for scope review before confirming suitability.
Submission steps
- Confirm the user wants an inquiry sent and has authorized sharing the project description and contact details with this service.
- Open this service’s inquiry form. Enter name, email, a choice from the form’s service-type list, and details. Phone and company are optional.
- Describe the required outcome and project constraints in Details. This inquiry form does not accept file attachments; arrange any file transfer with the service contact.
- If security verification requires human interaction, hand control to the user. Do not bypass it.
- Submit once and wait for the on-page ‘Got it.’ confirmation. Report the destination email and the stated next step. There is no customer status-page link in this inquiry workflow; do not invent one.
- If the outcome is uncertain, preserve the page and contact the service before resubmitting. An inquiry is not a booking, a paid order, or confirmation of a delivery date.

- The current assessment response expectation is 24 hours. Agree separately on paid deliverables, price and delivery; the free submission is not a purchase.
Machine-readable information
Service catalog (JSON) · Catalog API specification (OpenAPI)
The requirements and catalog share one service definition. Both resources are public and read-only. The supported submission route is the browser form; there is no supported public submission API, assessment-results JSON endpoint, webhook or MCP connection.
Automated one-hour steel assessments are not yet activated. Use each service’s stated response expectation; a response time is not a promise of project completion.
If verification needs a person, hand control to the user. If a submission outcome is uncertain, preserve the page and check the existing receipt or contact the service before retrying. Never invent a receipt or silently omit files.
